About The Tinakilly House Hotel
The Tinakilly House Hotel is a Victorian mansion rich in history. The house was originally built in 1883 for Capt. Robert Halpin the commander of the vessel “The Great Eastern” which laid 2,600 miles of telegraphic cable between the Europe and America in 1866. The house was constructed with gracious architecture, a wonderful sea view and romantic gardens.

The house was purchased by the Power family and has undergone many renovations. This relaxing escape has become known as one of Ireland’s most romantic secret hideaways. It is also very conveniently located to some of the best golf in Ireland as well. In the kitchen you will find a fine blend of modern and traditional Irish cuisine, including local fresh fish and game and herbs supplied by their own garden.

The bedrooms are elegant and modern but reflect deeply on the Victorian roots of the house. In the east wing you will find suites and rooms with majestic views of the Irish Sea or rooms overlooking the immaculate gardens below. In the west wing you will find rooms designed to resemble the period of the house, with four poster and half tester canopy beds.
